Dear students,
Reflecting the last two terms, I proudly inform that our debate community ran well. Some high motivated friends had dedicated their time, energy and vision to tremendously cherish the class. They attended all of our meetings not only for the sake of their peers but also for their own self development. They had committed themselves to learning more than just English. There were mistakes and confusions coloring the debate techniques, yet they kept on talking. The LCDC teachers (Mr. Indra and Ms. Hanneke) had tried to give the best they could do to share knowledge and experience. This beautiful achievement was possible to happen because the class teachers of all levels also gave their best contribution by promoting LCDC to the potential students. Millions of thanking phrases will not be enough to represent my great gratitude for all those beautiful things and for some people who support our debate community.
Debating is fun! Debating gives us the chance to meet new people and new ideas. Best of all, we have the opportunity to stand up and argue with someone in public, in a stimulating and organizing dispute about real issues. That is what LCDC is about – improving your skills of formal argument. In addition, LCDC can be a place that helps you develop the right skills and strategies to be a successful debater while improving your English fluency. Joining LCDC can be a fun way to spend the weekend. It is a nice place to debate and learn debate techniques. Debate can be fun and LCDC is the place to reach that, I believe.
At last, as F.E Roosevelt said that the future belongs to those who believe in their dreams, I am dreaming to have a bright future for LCDC, and I believe it is true. Therefore, I suggest all of LCDC participants and potential participants to keep up the good works and dreams. I am sure that there are still some motivated people as well as potential individuals who need this kind of place to express their opinion and speak up in positive way. Let’s stay, keep dreaming and improve ourselves through LCDC because the future awaits us!
