This activity was done spontaneously in my class when the discussion was about movie genre, the plot of the movie, movie actors, movie setting, etc, in my Elementary 4 class. The lessons objective was about reading. There were 2 readings and one grammar focus, Passive Voice.
Since all the readings had been carried out and the grammar focus was finished, too, so I spontaneously had an idea for the students to make their own movie together with their classmates. Here are the following steps:
1. Distribute each student a piece of paper. Write their name on bottom right corner.
2. Ask the students to imagine that they’re going to make a movie. Write the title of their movie.
3. Hand their paper to their friend in their right. Write the genre of the movie.
4. Hand their paper to their friend in their right. Write the actors who will play in the movie.
5. Hand their paper to their friend in their right. Decide where the scenes will be taken.
6. Hand their paper to their friend in their right. Decide when the movie will be released.
7. Hand their paper to their friend in their right. Decide the age that can watch the movie.
8. Hand their paper to their friend in their right. Tell about what they think about the movie.
As soon as the students finished with their sketch of the movie, they read their paper. As the last activity, they can write their movie review if the time allows.
