After being released in April 2009, LIA Air Transport Training and Education (AT2E) finally launched the first class in December 9, 2009. LIA AT2E is English for Special Purpose designed for Airport Staff. The launching was attended by some prominent officials; Bambang Sulistyo represented LBPP LIA Semarang Candi, Umar Latinulu, Operational Director from LBPP LIA Institution, Sigit, the secretary of LBPP LIA Institution, Budi Maryanto, General Manager of Gapura Angkasa, and some teachers.
Bambang Sulistyo, the head of LBPP LIA Semarang Candi opened the launching by welcoming the officials and the students. He expected that the students would be the first generation for the next batch. Similarly to Bambang’s expectation, Budi Maryanto stated that the students would get the guarantee to work in reputable airport as soon as they finish their LIA AT2E training. After the two greetings, Ustad Anang, a cleric, led the audience to pray. The ceremony ended by Sigit who declared the formal ceremony by handing the top of rice cone to one of the students.
